That is one of the worst Photoshop edits Ive seen, and I work with Ps everyday. He used whats called a "clone stamp". Basicly it takes a "photo" of a designated area in the picture and clones it. Look on the smoke stack to the left, see the pattern in the middle ? Its just that "photo cloned and layered over the picture. Really shabby work. Really fucked up thing to do!!

As for the pictures, the BIG question is can we really trust ANY journalism? From what I have watched over the time, all journalism is biased. It's just a matter of choosing which truth you want to read/watch. To clarify, flares aren't used to deter missiles that use either radar or a laser to target your aircraft, because those do not follow a heat signature. Chaff is used instead. And flares aren't entirely harmless...ever see lit flares behind you hit a dry tree? :) Reuters...Jesus...this skirmish is bad enough...no need to try to make us more worried.
