I'm in my late 20s. More and more, I think of suicide to get rid of my student loans. I regret not saying NO to loans. I regret not saying NO to helping people that are close to me. My life is now ruined. It makes me wonder if I'll ever get a chance to start a family with all this debt. What's the point of living if I can't enjoy life when I'm young and have to live like a fugitive-slave until I'm in my 40's.

I believe most forms of education should be free to everyone, they tell us to go an get an education but make it hard as hell to do it without worry. When you think about it, it isn't the degree that puts food on the table, its us, we shouldn't have to sit around and dwell on the issue of being able afford a good education or not. I known people who really wanted to make it out of the hood by furthering their education but never got accepted anywhere, so they had to settle for the streets.

In the Netherlands they also have the option to get the "overvalue" of the house from the bank. So people could use that amount of money, not for holidays but only for improving the house. I have a house but i did not really understand the concept until this video, thanks for that. Luckily i did not use that "overvalue" because this overvalue will go down as the prices decrease of houses. So this overvalue is a kind of buffer for decreasing house prices.

If you use them respinsibly they can be helpful, they give you three extensions. A smart person who borrows 300 with a total of 350 interest will pay the loan off then reborrow 250, pay that then pay 250 and reborrow 200 until the debt is gone. It seems like alot of money in interest but time is money and you will have a long time to pay it off. Unfortunately most people are not smart enough to do this.

figure out your interest rate for the first year of a 30 year mortgage. Ask your bank for a list of their fees. Payday loans can cost you money just like anything else you borrow against. Here is a tip don't borrow money in any fashion. I am a lender and we don't loan to people who don't have the ability to pay the money back. After I pay all of my bills to run the company I don't make anything close to 400%, that is such a lie.

Payday loans benefit people who get paid monthly. You have to wean yourself off them and that is what I am doing. I believe that the government should regulate the interest of payday loaners. People will call that socialism, but it is better to do that then to take advantage of low income middle class people. School systems, parents, communities, and our federal government need to take a class in economic and financial literacy.

I would never make a deal with the payday devil again. Credit Unions (especially State) offer a much better salary loan advance if your in need of money...for me it works so much better and intrest is much lower and the best part is the intrest taken goes into a separate savings account.

i just wanted to post that i personally am not afraid of socialism or of 'government control of the auto industry,' it hasn't happened yet (despite what glen beck tells you) and it isn't going to happen and people can stop freaking out about it. nonetheless, i think it is great that people are calling attention to gm's blatant attempt to deceive the american public. now if only there were some sort of body that represented all of us that could hold them accountable for what they say and do...

I am a mortgage underwriter and PMI is for conentional loans only. FHA loans have MIP. This is not new. No, mortgage insurance is not required on a conventional loan when 20% is down. If less than 20% PMI is required. The 3% loan he speaks of is now 3.5% now in todays market is an FHA loan. Most folks that do not speak on that type of loan is not approved to do FHA loans. Not too many companies do 2nd liens any more. The lender is the best loan to do because the fees are less.

Why should you have to work to repay them? You're just buying back your promise to pay (the asset security) with other promises to pay (new bank notes) so the bank can discharge the liability on its book. Wether you repay or discharge the liability the bank contracted for your signature, it's the same.

I understand what Sal is trying to do: to justify the current fractional reserve banking system. The point why gold should be money is that it takes effort and human energy to extract gold from the ground hence it is precious and cannot be manipulated. While digital dollar can be manufactured by the bank anytime. The point is that banks are enjoying the spread by essentially doing nothing in the money creation process. Now, they try to keep all the profit while socializing the lost.

Lol, I can see that this is going to get juicier and juicier and how the banks basically neglected their requirements of keeping enough assets to cover the loans that were outstanding. I often wonder what the bank examiners were doing? Visions of "It's a Wonderful Life" keep popping in my brain, and the massive run on the bank. Y'know I think Hollywood should make a movie about this. It's a Wonderful Life 2008.
